The Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science (AMSS) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) was founded in December 1998 with the integration of the Institute of Mathematics (established 1952), the Institute of Applied Mathematics (established 1979), the Institute of Systems Science (established 1979), and the Institute of Computational Mathematics and Scientific/Engineering Computing (established 1995). CAS Academician Prof. YANG Lo was its founding president, CAS Academician Prof. GUO Lei was the second president, CAS Academician Prof. XI Nanhua and Prof. WANG Yuefei were the third co-presidents, and CAS Academician Prof. XI Nanhua is the current president.

AMSS is a comprehensive national academic research institution, covering the main research directions of mathematics and systems science. Nowadays, besides the four institutes, the AMSS houses five CAS centers including the Center of Excellence in Mathematical Sciences, the National Center for Mathematics and Interdisciplinary Sciences, the Hua Loo-Keng Center for Mathematical Sciences, the Morningside Center of Mathematics, the Center for Forecasting Science. Furthermore, it also houses the State Key Laboratory of Scientific and Engineering Computing, the Key Laboratory of Management, Decision and Information Systems, the Key Laboratory of Systems and Control, the Key Laboratory of Mathematics Mechanization, the HUA Loo-Keng Key Laboratory of Mathematics, and the Key Laboratory of Random Complex Structures and Data, etc. (Further Info http://www.amss.ac.cn)

With the full promotion and much advice of Prof. Yongxiang Lu, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, and President of Chinese Academy of Science s(CAS), the Center for Forecasting Science of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CEFS) was established in February, 2006. There are four research departments in CEFS: Department of Agricultural Products Forecasting, Department of Strategic Resource Forecasting, Department of Macroeconomic Forecasting, and Department of International Market Forecasting. CEFS welcomes all applicants worldwide whose research focus on any one or interdisciplinary of the following fields: econometric, finance, statistics, macro-economic analysis, forecasting science, input-output analysis, and machine learning.

Ⅰ.Vacancies:

Researcher

1. Doctor’s degree and no more than 50 years old;

2. Professor or equivalent position experience in well-known universities or research institutes;

3. Applicants working oversea, who are excellent or urgent-need, the requirements of position experience can be relaxed to associate professor or equivalent position;

4. Applicants can accurately grasp the discipline trends and development direction, play excellent roles as academic leaders.

Associate Researcher

1. Doctor’s degree and no more than 40 years old;

2. More than 3 years’ research experience in well-known universities or research institutes;

3. Applicants obtained doctors’ degree overseas and are particularly excellent, the requirements of working years can be appropriately relaxed;

4. Applicants should be top talents of the same age range in the research fields, can play excellent roles as academic backbones.

Research assistant

1. Doctor’s degree and no more than 35 years old;

2. More than 2 years’ research experience in well-known universities or research institutes;

3. Doctors educated by AMSS must have more than 2 years’ research experience outside AMSS.

Special research assistant (including postdoctoral)

1. Doctor’s degree and no more than 35 years old;

2. Good academic potential and cooperation ability, some influential academic achievements.

Ⅱ. Supporting conditions

1. For excellent young talents, they will be included in the “Excellent Young Talents Introduction” plan of AMSS:

400 thousand RMB for excellent young associate researcher as annual salary;

350 thousand RMB for excellent young research assistant as annual salary.

2. AMSS will recommend excellent applicants to apply for the national or CAS’s talent plan. The supporting measures are as follows.

For qualified excellent scholars, we will provide talent apartment or rent subsidy for talent turnover housing, also help their children to be enrolled into kindergartens or schools.
