About AMSS Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science of Chinese Academy of Sciences (AMSS) is a top research center of mathematics and systems science in China, dedicated to the highest level research in pure mathematics, applied mathematics, and applications of mathematics. Currently, AMSS has 300 faculty members, including 13 CAS Academicians, 1 CAE Academician, and 47 recipients of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. AMSS invites young scholars working in all areas of mathematics to apply for 2025’s New Round of National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars (Overseas) through AMSS. Requirement for Applicants from NSFC(1) Abide by the laws of the People’s Republic of China and have good scientific ethics.(2) Born on or after January 1, 1985.(3) Have a PhD degree in mathematics or related areas.(4) Have more than 36 months’ working experience at oversea universities or academic research institutions before September 15, 2025. For those who have obtained a PhD degree overseas and have outstanding research records, the limitation of work experience can be relaxed.(5) Have strong research record and the potential of becoming an academic leader.(6) The applicant should have not yet returned to China on a full-time working basis, or returned to China after January 1, 2024. If the fund is approved, the recipient need to work at AMSS full-time for at least 3 years. Supports & Benefits from AMSS (1) Internationally competitive salary. The Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science (AMSS) of Chinese Academy of Sciences invites applications for tenured and tenure-track faculty positions at all ranks and in all areas of mathematical sciences, including but not limited to pure mathematics, applied mathematics, computational mathematics, mathematical physics, statistics, systems science and control theory, information theory, operations research and econometrics, theoretical computer science and cryptography, mathematical theory of artificial intelligence, etc. AMSS is expected to recruit up to 20 research faculty members in year 2025.Remuneration package will be driven by market competitiveness and individual performance.
