Postdoctoral Positions

Hua Loo-Keng Center for Mathematics Sciences (HCMS, http://hcms.amss.ac.cn), Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences invites outstanding young researchers in the mathematical sciences to apply for up to 10 postdoc positions in 2022. The position will be open until they are filled and we will make a decision every three months. We are particularly interested in candidates working in the following research areas:
-- arithmetic algebraic geometry and the BSD conjecture,
-- Langlands program and related problems,
-- algebraic geometry and complex geometry,
-- partial differential equations and in particular Navier-Stokes equations,
-- stochastic analysis,
-- mathematical theory for artificial intelligence,
-- optimization and numerical computation over manifold,
-- systems and control theory,
-- algebraic computation theory and cryptography.
The position is for two years. Successful applicants are expected to conduct research full-time in areas mentioned above and no teaching load is required. The amount of annual salary plus fringe benefits is 350K-450K RMB (fringe benefits for Chinese citizens are about 25% and 5% for non-Chinese citizens). HCMS will also provide an annual research grant of 20K RMB for each postdoc. According to relevant rules, the applicant's age should not exceed 35 years, and the time of obtaining a doctorate should not exceed three years. HCMS is supported by the project of National Natural Science Foundation of China, “Geometry, analysis and computation on manifolds”. HCMS has about 60 faculty members, including 6 Fellows of Chinese Academy of Sciences. The main purpose of HCMS is to carry out research of highest level on some of the main directions of Mathematical Sciences through cooperation and exchange. HCMS runs regular academic programs throughout the whole year.

The Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science (AMSS) of Chinese Academy of Sciences invites applications for tenured and tenure-track faculty positions at all ranks and in all areas of mathematical sciences, including but not limited to pure mathematics, applied mathematics, computational mathematics, mathematical physics, statistics, systems science and control theory, information theory, operations research and econometrics, theoretical computer science and cryptography, mathematical theory of artificial intelligence,etc. AMSS is expected to recruit up to 20 international postdoctoral fellows in year 2022.
We seek candidates with strong research records. Candidates should have a PhD degree in mathematics or closely related area within 4 years. The normal duration of this position is 2 years. The wages are 300k-400k CNY per year with benefits included.
