International Symposium on Statistics and Management Science was held in Shanghai on July 18-19, 2009. More than 200 experts at home and abroad attended this conference. The aim is to provide forums for international cooperation in statistics theory and its applications and for interdisciplinary exchanges in Statistics and Management Science.

Prof. Ai Chunrong  from University of Florida, USA presided over the opening ceremony.  The President of Northeast Normal University Prof. Shi Ningzhong , The Vice-president of Tianjin University of Finance and Economics Prof. Zhang Wei  and The Vice-president of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics Prof. Huang Linfang made speeches at the ceremony, respectively. Prof.  Fan Jianqing from Princeton University, Prof. Tian Guoqiang  form Texas A&M University and Prof. Fan Ying  from Institute of Policy and Management, CAS made plenary talks，respectively. Besides, more than 130 attendees delivered invited lectures.

This event was hosted by Chinese Association of Applied Statistics sub-association of resource and environment analysis, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Institute of Applied Mathematics, AMSS, CAS and Key-lab of Random Complex Structures and Data Science, CAS.  The Chairman of this symposium is Prof. Zhou Yong from Institute of Applied Mathematics, AMSS.
