Cheng Daizhan and Qi Hongsheng Won Automatica Best Paper Prize

A paper titled “Controllability and Observability of Boolean Control Networks”, authored by Prof. Cheng Daizhan and Assistant Prof. Qi Hongsheng, has won Automatica 2008-2010 Best Methodology/Theory paper Prize.

Prof. Cheng Daizhan has been working at Institute of Systems Science, AMSS, Chinese Academy of Sciences as the full professor since 1990. His research interests consist of nonlinear systems control, Hamiltonian Systems and control of Boolean networks, etc. He was the Chair of Technical Committee on Control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation (2003-2010), the Chair of Program Committee of the 49th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control and he has received the second Prize of National Natural Science Award 2008 (1st Place). Prof. Cheng is currently the IEEE Fellow and the IFAC Fellow. 

Automatica is sponsored by the International Federation of Automatic Control, and is one of the most influential journals recognized by international control community. Its Best Methodology/Theory paper is selected triennially and awarded at triennial IFAC Word Congress.
