The 5th Sino-Japan Optimization Meeting (SJOM 2011) was held at AMSS during September 26-29, 2011. About 100 experts in optimization area from America, Japan, Singapore, Australia, etc attended the event. The opening ceremony was presided over by Prof. YUAN Yaxiang, the President of Operations Research Society of China.
SJOM 2011 focused on non-linear optimization, combinatorial optimization, stochastic optimization, conic programming, finance optimization, supply chain management and so on. 14 invited lectures were also given on recent advances of optimization, including its theories, methods and applications during the conference.
SJOM is one of the official conference series of the Pacific Optimization Research Activity Group. Its objective is to provide opportunities for researchers from China, Japan and Asia-Pacific regions to share their knowledge on the latest advance of optimization and related areas.
It was organized by Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The sponsors include National Natural Science Foundation of China, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, State Key Laboratory of Scientific and Engineering Computing, Institute of Computational Mathematics and Scientific/Engineering Computing, and Center for Optimization and Applications, AMSS.
