Prof. Gerard van der Geer, gave a lecture titled “Modular Forms and invariant theory” at AMSS on 30, October 2018.
Siegel modular forms lived on the moduli of abelian varieties and Teichmueller modular forms on the moduli of curves. In the report, they showed how invariant theory could be used to efficiently describe such modular forms for genus 2 and 3. This was joint work with Fabien Clery and Carel Faber.
