Prof. Vicentiu Radulescu, gave a lecture titled “Two classical results with lack” at AMSS on 13, December 2018. They considered two basic results in nonlinear analysis, namely the general maximum principle and the Keller-Oseerman theorem on the existence of blow-up boundary solutions. The main purpose of the talk was to establish that these results do hold without any monotonicity assumption on the nonlinear term. Several related open problems were also raised in connection with some well-known results in nonlinear PDEs. Prof. Vicentiu Radulescu is from AGH University of Science and Technology, Poland, and Institute of Mathematics of the Romanian Academy, Romania.
