The workshop on the Schrodinger operator and related problems was held from October 30th to November 1st, 2019 in the South Building of the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences (AMSS. CAS). This activity attracted more than 50 people to attend, including Prof. Jialin Hong, vice president of AMSS, Prof. Shunlong Luo, director of the Institute of Applied Mathematics, Prof. Bo Zhang, vice director of the Institute of Applied Mathematics, Prof. Zaijiu Shang, Prof. Zuohuan Zheng and so on. It was organized by AMSS, CAS and was sponsored by Hua Loo-Keng Center for Mathematical Science.
The workshop invited four international outstanding experts in dynamical systems and spectral theory to give us reports. The talk, entitled “Arithmetic Version of Anderson localization via reducibility”, was reported by Prof. Jiangong, who was invited 45-minute speaker at ICM in 2018, and from Chern Institute of Mathematics, Nankai University. The talks entitled “The KdV equation with almost periodic initial data” and “The topological structure of the spectrum of Almost periodic Schrodinger operators” were reported by Prof. David Damanik, who was the inaugural class of American Mathematical Society Fellows, Robert L. Moody, Sr. from Mathematics at Rice University. The talks entitled “Two topics on Lyapounov exponent” and “Analytic version of Hirota-Sato theory on KdV equation” were reported by Prof. Shinichi KOTANI, who was invited 45-minute speaker at ICM in 1990, from Osaka University. The talk entitled “On quasi-periodic Schrodinger operators with a C^2 cos-type potential and a large coupling” was reported by Prof. Yiqian Wang from Nanjing University.
