Title:
Lagrangian fibrations from Hodge theory

Venue:
Room: S703
Abstract:
The objective of the talk is to describe several constructions of holomorphically symplectic varieties admitting Lagrangian fibrations. The constructions considered are related to the variations of (mixed) Hodge structures, and the fibers of the obtained Lagrangian fibrations are intermediate Jacobians of algebraic varieties.
The first example of this kind was discovered by Donagi and Markman (1993). Since then, more examples were constructed by Iliev, Manivel and the speaker, where the fibers of the Lagrangian fibrations are the intermediate Jacobians of Fano varieties of dimension 3 or 5. I will survey these constructions and provide some new ones related to the intermediate Jacobians of 3-dimensional Calabi-Yau varieties and to (generalized) Prym varieties.
