Abstract:	Entropy formulas play a crucial role in Perelman's approach to the Ricci flow. We explain how to derive such formulas using methods from Stochastic Analysis. Of particular interest is the case of a surface where (scalar) curvature follows a heat equation along the Ricci flow.This is joint work with Hongxin Guo and Robert Philipowski.
