Abstract:
We consider the following harmonic map flow $$ u_t=\Delta u +|\nabla u|^2 u$$ $$ u: \Omega \to S^2 $$ where $\Omega$ is a general two dimensional domain. Given any point in the domain, we construct a type II blow-up solution at this point with blowing up rate $ (T-t)/log^2 (T-t)$.We prove this blowing up rate is stable and universal. This is the first construction in nonradial setting. If time permits, I will discuss bubble trees, reverse bubbles, etc.
