Title:
Compact Representation and Efficient Reasoning about Big Spatial Data
Time & Venue:

Abstract:
Spatial information abounds in human activities, but exact quantitative spatial knowledge are often unavailable or not necessary. In these cases a qualitative approach will be very helpful. Qualitative spatial reasoning (QSR) is widely known as the Artificial Intelligence (AI) approach to spatial knowledge representation and reasoning. This talk will first introduce basic notions and techniques developed in QSR, and then will focus on overviews of our most recent research in the compact representation and efficient reasoning about big spatial data.
