Holography (or the Anti-de Sitter/Conformal Field Theory correspondence) is one of the most mysterious conjectural dualities in theoretical physics, which states that certain theories of gravity in Anti-de Sitter or Hyperbolic space should be equivalent to certain Conformal Field Theories in one less dimension. My talk will be about a new approach to holography via non-Archimedean geometry. I will first give a review of holography for Archimedean geometry and then describe a non-Archimedean analog which naturally leads to a simple, discrete model for holography on Bruhat-Tits trees. I will also discuss the possibility of generalizing this construction to richer analytic p-adic spaces, particularly the Berkovich projective line.
