This talk presents some of our recent works in anomaly detection in power grid based on phasor measurement unit (PMU) data. Starting from the existing approximation to the PMU data, we discussed improvement in the modelling techniques and relaxation in data availability, and also the improvement in performance. The research highlights the importance of interplay between physical models and statistical models.
