Abstract: The mini-course will be dedicated to the geometry of C-pairs introduced by Frédéric Campana in his theory of special varieties. Special varieties and C-pairs turn out to be the key objects in the conjectural description of the distribution of rational points or entire curves on projective varieties. After introducing the main tools of the theory, I will present some recent advances obtained in joint works with Stefan Kebekus and Frédéric Touzet.
