Abstract: We discuss the statement and proof of the almost reducibility conjecture for subcritical one-frequency SL(2,R) cocycles, its central role in the global theory of one-frequency Schrodinger operators and its application (joint with You and Zhou) to the Dry Ten Martini problem.
