Abstract: The Eulerian polynomials are fundamental objects in enumerative combinatorics, as they encode the distribution of ascents and descents over permutations. Over the years, numerous refinements and generalizations have been introduced. Gamma–positivity is a property that polynomials with symmetric coefficients may have, which directly implies their unimodality. In this talk, I will survey some results obtained in recent years for refinements of this property for various q-Eulerian polynomials and problems that remain open.
