Recently, the paper titled “Z/2 harmonic 1-forms, R-trees, and the Morgan-Shalen compactification”, co-authored by Associate Prof.He Siqi at the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science（AMSS），CAS, and Boyu Zhang and Richard Wentworth from the University of Maryland, College Park, was published online in Inventiones Mathematicae.
Recently, the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) Fellow announced its 2026 class of Fellows. 25 new fellows were elected in this year in recognition of their outstanding contributions to applied mathematics and computational science. Professor Tao Zhou, from the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science (AMSS), was elected for his significant contributions to uncertainty quantification and scientific computing.
Associate Professor Xu Daxin Publishes in Prestigious Journal of the American Mathematical Society
A paper titled "p-adic non-abelian Hodge theory for curves via moduli stacks," co-authored by Associate Professor Xu Daxin of the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science (AMSS), Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Professor Ben Heuer of Leibniz University Hannover, was recently published online in the Journal of the American Mathematical Society (JAMS), one of the world's top-tier mathematics journals.
The AMSS is not only an influential research center, but a high level graduate education base. Its four institutes are among the first authorized to confer master’s degrees and doctorates, and were among the earliest post-doctoral stations.
The Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science (AMSS) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), was founded in December 1998 with the integration of the Institute of Mathematics (established 1952), the Institute of Applied Mathematics (established 1979), the Institute of Systems Science (established 1979), the Institute of Computational Mathematics and Scientific/Engineering Computing (established 1995). CAS Academician Prof. YANG Lo was its founding president, CAS Academician Prof. GUO Lei was the second president, CAS Academician Prof. XI Nanhua and Prof. WANG Yuefei were the third co-presidents, and CAS Academician Prof. XI Nanhua is the current president.
