International Symposium on Applied Mathematics (ISAM) was held successfully in Beijing during 27 to 28, June, 2009. This Symposium was mainly to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the founding of Institute of Applied Mathematics, AMSS, CAS. More than 280 experts and students attended this event.

 At the celebration conference held on the morning of 27, June, Prof.  Gong Fuzhou, director of the Institute of Applied Mathematics made a comprehensive introduction on the development of Institute of Applied Mathematics in the past thirty years. Prof. Wang Yuefei , AMSS Vice-president, CAS Academician Wang Zikun , Guo Boling , Chen Mufa  and Peng Shige made celebration speeches, respectively.

 Besides, thirty-four experts at home and abroad delivered talks on differential equation and mathematical physics, probability and statistics, operations research and decision after the celebration conference.

 This Symposium was sponsored by Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science.
