Expert Evaluation of CAS Center of Excellence in Mathematical Sciences (CEMS)  was held at AMSS during September 7- 8.  

The international expert group evaluated the research directions, research team and research achievements of the CEMS. After International expert evaluation and management expert evaluation, initial evaluation results was feedbacked to CEMS. The panel of experts gave a comprehensive and high evaluation of the work and offered valuable suggestions for the future development of the centre. This assessment will play an important role in promoting the rapid development of the CEMS and the future of the AMSS.     

The CEMS was established in January 2015. The center is a part of the CAS Pioneer Initiative (2015-2030). CEMS aims at excellence in fundamental research and education of mathematical sciences by integrating the cutting edge research AMSS and the mathematical education in the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. The purpose of CEMS is to become a top center and a first-class international education institution in mathematical sciences, by organizing research teams capable of achieving major innovative results and solving major mathematical open problems, by creating an academic environment to nurture mathematical research capable of winning the highest awards in mathematical science, and by training and attracting young talents in mathematical science.
